dancing men · jev animations
Every figure below was assigned its gesture, its arousal and its resting manner by the Jev decision model, one call at a time. Each cycles between the clip it was given and a rest state whose rise and fall is set by how aroused that character is in that moment.
Each figure plays its assigned clip, then drops to rest and breathes, then goes again. rest_only means Jev judged that character present but not acting — in a room of six listening to a surgeon, that is most of them.
Because the library has no clip for "listening attentively", the differentiation in crowd scenes comes from the idle layer instead: carriage, a personal tic, breath rate and a phase offset so nobody breathes in unison.
Allocated without replacement — asked independently, all five drew the same tic, so each later character now picks from what is left.
Anchored on respiration, not heartbeat: 12–15 bpm is autonomic calm, ~19 bpm is the measured emotional rate, 22 is transient only.
Hilton Cubitt is dead from card 69 and gets deceased_still — no breath,
no motion, desaturated. The first run had him breathing at 17 bpm.
